BJJ Travel started on a mat in Vietnam. We kept showing up to new gyms, asking the same questions, and realising there was nowhere good to find the answers. So we built it.
We're a small team of people who train BJJ, who got tired of the same problem: you land in a new city, you want to train, and there's nowhere to quickly find which gyms are drop-in friendly, what the schedule looks like, or what the vibe is actually like on the mat.
Where it started
The first version was a Google Sheet shared in a WhatsApp group. It had a few gyms and we were wrong about half of them. That sheet turned into a website, the website turned into an app, and the app slowly turned into what BJJ Travel is today, a community-led map of every mat worth rolling on.
What we believe
Jiu-Jitsu is the most welcoming martial art in the world when you walk through the door of a good gym. Our job is to make sure you find the right door.
The best part of travelling as a grappler is that every gym is a potential community. We just needed a map.
